Our review

Nowadays is not easy to find something original in the App Store due to the large ammount of applications and games containing. But this is the case of "Rapids Rider", DAGASU brings us some of fresh air in a saturated room.
The concept is very original, basically, we have an aerial view kayaking game, but the locations, gameplay and additional content makes  it unique.
We get the role of Nick Trouble, an adventurer, with an appearance far from the typical one, he has an humorous orientation. We have to pass a set of stages using all the full device capabilities, using the tilt sensors to move, tap on the screen to accelerate and slide over the screen for braking. It is appreciated a real iPhone control.
The graphics are cool, pictures are really nice and we like much the game graphics that are more classical style instead the typical flash-style graphics so used today in 2D games. The music is beatiful and adapts well to the situation. The sound effects are good and have a curious effect if you play with earphones.
We can play in 2 modes, in Story Mode we play while viewing some funny pictures and animations, we get a rating based stars (from 0 to 3) and unlock the stages and content. In Score Mode we play for obtaining the highest score and send them to Game Center leaderboards. In the way we find bonus items, collecting them we obtain better ratings or scores, depending of the selected game mode.
Additionally, when we play and obtain stars, we can use them to unlock all the game contents, like pictures and animations, which are available as extras. Each item has a cost, and unlocking all of them can take you a long time. It has enabled Game Center achievements, and some of them are not an easy task. With this, we can say that Rapids Rider has a high replayable value.
With its original concept, excellent gameplay, complete set of 24 stages, and all the additional content included, we can only strongly recommend to buy Rapids Rider. For its low price, $1.99, it's really worthy.
